Gears Transmission

Transmission Repair Process and Quality Control Steps

Intake and diagnostics:
Vehicle identification number (VIN) and reported symptoms are verified. Diagnostic trouble codes are reviewed, and any fitment or programming requirements are documented. The transmission failure mode is confirmed, and a defined repair plan is established before work begins.

Removal and teardown:
The transmission assembly is removed and disassembled. Components are cleaned, and internal hard parts, passages, and surfaces are inspected for wear, damage, and debris.

Rebuild and installation:
Critical wear components are replaced as required. Clutch clearances and endplay are set to manufacturer specifications. Valve body vacuum testing, circuit air checks, and solenoid verification are performed. Transmission fluid service and cooler flushing are completed. All fasteners are tightened to specified torque values.

Final inspection and quality control:
Seals, electrical connectors, and mounting points are rechecked. A road test is performed to confirm proper shift operation, absence of diagnostic codes, and no fluid leaks. The repair is documented with a final quality control sign-off.

They were great to work with! I had a terrible experience with the last shop I worked with, and Gears gave a wonderful experience instead. If I ever have any more issues with my vehicles, I will always bring them here.

I have nothing but good things to say about Gears. I took my granddaughters car in for diagnostic test, the staff there were so kind and generous. So a big thanks to Gears transmission!
